Primary Mission In collaboration with the Pastoral Associate for Adult Spiritual Development and Lay Ministry, the primary mission of the Lay Ministries Committee is to enable parishioners to exercise their Baptismal call to ministry. The Lay Ministry Committee serves as an advisory/visioning committee that seeks: to support and further develop parish lay ministries which are responsive to the needs of the parish community, according to: 1) the priorities established by the parish surveys and dialogue processes 2) the priorities and direction of the Pastoral Council and the parish pastoral leadership 3) the guidelines of the Archdiocese Committee members meet on the first Thursday from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. from August through June. Members are discerned from the cross section of the adult parish membership. They serve a one to three year term, with some new members rotating annually. Meetings contain a component of prayer, continuing education on lay ministry, and consideration of specific dimensions of lay ministry as it relates to everyday adult spiritual development, pastoral care, or marketplace activities. Committee action takes place wherever members deem it appropriate. The committee serves to: 1) promote lay ministries that nurture evangelization, adult spirituality, welcome-hospitality activities, spiritual enrichment for adults, and pastoral care ministries across the whole life-cycle 2) represent the variety of lay ministry possibilities in the parish to the Pastoral Council 3) recommend budgetary needs and priorities for various lay ministries and articulate this information to the Budget Committee Evangelization/Adult Spirituality Parish-based Ignatian Spirituality Retreat RCIA Leadership Team Adult RCIA Catechist Adult RCIA Sponsor Adult RCIA Hospitality Adult RCIA Inquirer Contact Adult - Confirmation Adult - Reconciliation/Returning Catholics Adult Small Christian Community BeFriender Ministry – (“ministry of presence”) Communion to Homebound Nursing Home Ministry Nursery Prayer Network Ministry Short-time Service to Seniors Summit Sunday Hospitality Welcoming new parishioners Support and Spirituality Groups Aids Ministry Education and Support Capital City Grief Coalition Divorced & Separated Resources Men's Spirituality Groups Women's Spirituality Groups Members seek to identify and address unmet ministry needs in the parish community.
