Marriage at Saint Thomas More Church The vocation of marriage is written in the very nature of man and woman as they come from the hand of the Creator God. Marriage is God's way of joining two people in love and fidelity and of bringing new human persons into existence. Christ raised marriage to the dignity of a sacrament as a covenant made between a man and a woman which establishes between them a partnership for the whole of life. A Christian marriage is a sign to the world of Christ's presence among us.
Eligibility Criteria 1) Actively sharing in the parish's life and mission 2) Participating in the weekly Eucharistic Assembly 3) Sharing in the various ministries and activities of the parish 4) Engaging in financial stewardship of one's resources for the common mission of the parish
Members A Catholic party who resides outside the parish boundaries (see above paragraph) and does not plan to change residency must be a registered member of the Church of St. Thomas More six months prior to entering into the marriage preparation program and determining a wedding date. Sometimes two people wishing to marry request that their marriage preparation be done at the Church of St. Thomas More but the marriage ceremony be performed at a different church. In this situation, one of the two people must be an active member of St. Thomas More Church (see criteria listed above under "eligibility").
Date
and Time Availability Enrollment in the preparation process and establishment of a wedding date must be no earlier than fifteen months and no later than nine months. The establishment of a reservation date does not assure that the wedding will take place, but only that the Church and a presider will be available if all other requirements are satisfied.
